A rare reason for lack of posting...
Hubby came home from Iraq for two weeks. Lets just say very little of substance got done around the house while he was home.

The biggest thing we did was pick out paint colors, and play around with them on the back of the house. He had fun with that, he'll be pretty good at color selection after a bit. Doubt he'd admit that to anyone but me (hehehe). Still need to narrow down the window colors.

Lets see... I got the evol pepper trees pruned back big time. It is a amazing how fast those trees grow, and what incredibly messy they are. You couldn't even pull up in front of the house without hitting some of the branch, though I'd pruned it back last year.

I got the side door lock replaced, finally. The rounded off screw in the door frame had to be dug out, it wasn't budging an inch (even with a special drill bit). Now the lock can actually engage, what a concept!

My little Miss Priss Kitty has given me quite the head ache. She won't go to the bathroom outside, insisting on a litter box. I keep in the garage, and somewhat intentionally forget about it to encourage her to go outside. Instead she started peeing on the carpet in the living room. A black light helped identify the exact spots she'd gone (I got all CSI on the kitty) but the enzyme cleaners don't seem to have worked all the well. I ripped up the carpet to make sure the hardwood wasn't damaged, and it looks good.

What wonderful news to read on houseblogs!!
Though I hope I'm not being too inappropriately fresh to say that I hope that house colors weren't the main thing that you two played around with while he was there... ::grin::
Ha! I like Georgetown House! Gosh and to be somewhat rid of that nasty ol' pepper tree branches leaving you with a mess! Hallejlluah!
Miss you these days as I am ridin' the ol' weeze bus instead of squeezing myself onto the Vallejo's nasty seats at the 7 am run. Hope to see ya soon.
You "got all CSI up on your cat," you go girl! That is too funny!
I just found out about this...
I thought you might want to know that our little theater is putting on a costuming/book signing event! Check it OUT..

I found your blog through the Chron story and am also in the process of fixing up a local bungalow. I saw your comment about the cat peeing on your carpet. I have a rather uptight feline who has taken to peeing in the exact same spot over and over again. While the enzyme cleaners don't completely get rid of all the nastiness, a box of Arm & Hammmer left all day (sprinkled, of course) does wonders for the smell. Good luck!
